September Events

Alpha Course

Our next Alpha Course starts on Sunday 17th September from 10:30-12:15 and will be held in The Ark Conservatory.

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to sit down on a Sunday morning with a cuppa, a slice of cake and explore the Christian faith. Each week there is a short presentation followed by a discussion.

No question is too simple or too hostile. This is a free course designed specifically for people who do not know Jesus as their Saviour and will run for 8 Sundays.

Bring and Share Lunch

Sunday 17th September

We’re really looking forward to sharing lunch as a church family after the service on Sunday 17th September.

This is a ‘Bring and Share’ lunch; please sign up on the flip chart in the Arena foyer to bring a dish. (In terms of quantity, please imagine you are catering for ten people. Could you also provide a spoon with your dish, as there may not be enough serving tools otherwise. Importantly, please label your dish if it is gluten free, vegetarian or contains nuts, in order to help those individuals with specific dietary needs.)

This is also the first week of the Alpha course, so we will be able to invite those who are attending Alpha to stay and eat with us following their first meeting.

Camping Trip

Friday 23rd September- Sunday 25th September

Another opportunity to spend time together and have some fun is coming up soon, as we plan to camp at Kingsdown Campsite for a weekend. If you’d like to come, please give names to Charlotte Morrison or Leanne Coates by Sunday 17th September. The prices are as follows:

Adult- £7 per person per night

Child- £5 per person per night

Hungarian Visitors

From Thursday 20th - Monday 24th July seven Hungarian church members from Pecs will be visiting us. This is an exciting time for our church family as we develop the links between The Ark and the church in Pecs.

During their visit they will be staying with families from The Ark and visiting Canterbury and areas of Dover. The group will also be attending our spARKs and shARKs group on the Friday evening as well as participating in church on the Sunday morning.

Sunday afternoon everyone is invited to Samphire Hoe to a picnic with our visiting friends. This will take place straight after church. Please come along and join us.

Then at the end of August a group including Nigel, Mark, Louise, Carol, Joyce, Dave, Peter, Suzanne, Jackie and Wendy from The Ark will be visiting Pecs where they will participate in an outreach event, take part in the Sunday Service, and visit both Pecs and Budapest.

Please pray for God to bless this link with our brothers and sisters and enable it to grow and flourish over the coming years.
